LA TIENDA VERDE has been the main source of reference for people looking for maps, travel guides and mountaineering guides in Spain for the last thirty years.

From its beginning as a general bookshop in 1950, LA TIENDA VERDE rose over the years to become the only bookshop where one could find the few publications on trekking, hiking and climbing and the odd maps available in our country.

The original name of the bookshop has since been changed. The name LA TIENDA VERDE was christened by our customers, who were inspired by the colour of the front and inner walls of the bookshop.

Soon this name prevailed and in the 1970´s, when more Spanish people caught on the travelling bug, travel guides also made their appearances in our bookshop. These were first in English and French editions. But with increasing publications of the Spanish travel guides, our room got correspondingly smaller and smaller...

						... As a result, a new bookshop was opened standing barely fiftly metres away across the street. LA TIENDA VERDE became more VERDE than ever with extensive sections devoted to ecology and nature. At present, LA TIENDA VERDE has in stock all the travel and mountaineering guides published in Spain as well as most essential guides and quality publications from abroad. LA TIENDA VERDE you can also find all kind of maps, not only of Spain but countries the world over.

Complementary articles ranging from compasses, G.P.S. , pedometers, to articles for foot orienteering can also be found in LA TIENDA VERDE along with items such as aerial photographs or nautical charts and publications on geology or topography.
